(WXYZ) — A teen accused of raping a girl at a metro Detroit school was sentenced Wednesday.

Khymani Jamal Tolbert was sentenced to six months in juvenile detention on charges of criminal sexual conduct. After the six month period, the judge will review Tolbert's rehabilitation -- if reformed, Tolbert will be released. If not, he will head to an adult facility.

Tolbert allegedly raped the girl in a stairwell at Lincoln High School in November 2017.

Warren Police say the incident was captured on school surveillance cameras. A detective said that what happened between the two teens was a "game changer" when the teen girl was thrown to the ground.

The video was not played during Tolbert's preliminary examination in February 2018.

In court, the prosecutor said Tolbert wrote rap songs in which he threatened his accuser. Those alleged threats are one of the reasons Judge John Chmura denied bond for Tolbert.

The teen will be placed on the Sex Offender Registry.
