Toledo Beach Marina fire caused estimated loss of more than $1 million

LASALLE TOWNSHIP, MICH. (WXYZ) — Officials say the Toledo Beach Marina fire caused an estimated loss of over $1 million.

At approximately 6:30 a.m. on Dec. 4, troopers from the Monroe Post responded to a large fire in a boat storage “rack and launch” building at the Toledo Beach Marina. A total of 14 area fire departments were called in to contain and extinguish the fire.

Investigators say approximately 75 boats were inside the building at the time and were destroyed by the fire.

The cause of the fire is still undetermined at this time, officials say. Investigators are still processing the scene and conducting interviews. No injuries were sustained as a result of the fire.
