The eastbound lanes of I-696 in Oakland County are now open after unexpected lane closures Monday morning.
Four lanes were open from I-275 to Orchard Lake, two lanes were open from Orchard Lake to American Drive and only one lane was open to Telegraph.
Officials say the lane closures were caused by concrete not curing hard enough to allow traffic to drive on it.
MDOT believes the sporadic rain over the weekend was a factor.
