(WXYZ) — In tonight's 7 UpFront report we're looking a recommendations to move Detroit forward as Detroit Future City released an extensive report on the state of economic equity in the city.

We're being joined by the CEO of Detroit Future City Anika Goss to discuss some of their key findings.

You can see the full interview in the video player above.

"I think what's really important to know is the state of the equity report was really designed to be a framing for where we were pre-COVID. So, if we can understand that, while we thought that this was a city and a region that was growing really quickly, that was on the path to economic recovery, what's clear is that it wasn't inclusive," Goss says. "And, if we can actually close some of these gaps now, which I definitely think we can, we have a better understanding of where we are in terms of some of these economic inequities. I'm actually really encouraged that we can actually do that. But we do have to understand what those gaps are in order for us to close them."
