Examining racism and race relations in wake of Chauvin conviction

(WXYZ) — The death of George Floyd and the conviction of Derek Chauvin have prompted serious discussions about racism and relations between the African American community and police.

We're talking about it in tonight's 7 UpFront segment with Wayne State University Political Science Professor Ron Brown.

"I was happy because I thought about myself, my two sons, and my one grandson who've all been stopped by the police," Brown says. "I'm hoping all Americans realize that we should have a fair procedural structure of justice so that no one feels like a stranger. So I was very, very happy with the outcome."
