(WXYZ) — In tonight's 7 UpFront segment we're looking at a big movement to help feed local families and the launch of the 31st annual Michigan Harvest Gathering.

We're being joined by the Executive Director of the Food Bank Council of Michigan D. Phil Knight to talk about it.

You can see the full interview in the video player above.

"The Michigan Harvest Gathering is 31 years strong and this year we're adding a new partner to our sponsors and it's the Michigan Restaurant and Lodging Association," Knight says. "Justin Winslow, the CEO and President for the Michigan Restaurant and Lodging Association is coming alongside of us and we're encouraging folks to go out and eat between November the 1st and November the 12th with an opportunity to round up your bill and every dollar you do that, you create 5 meals through the food bank network that serves all 83 counties here in Michigan."
