DETROIT (WXYZ) — On Wednesday's UpFront segment, we discuss racial justice in Detroit and across the country.
Joining 7 Action News to discuss the important topic is Wendy Lewis Jackson, managing director of Kresge Foundation's Detroit program. Jackson touches on the $30 million grant that Kresge Foundation is making as part of its long-term commitment to equity and opportunity.
Additionally, $7 million will go to organizations that are doing grassroots work in the city.
The Kresge Foundation has long supported Detroit through the arts and culture, education, health and human services. The foundation also played a hugely positive role during Detroit's bankruptcy. But today, it seems that the work on equality and justice are the major focuses of the organization.
