After Meijer added multiple pickup locations in southeast Michigan last year, retail and grocery giant Walmart is now offering free grocery pickup service in metro Detroit.
According to the company, you can fill up your grocery list on their website and then set a pickup time. The three locations with the service are in Rochester Hills, Commerce Township and Chesterfield Township.
Once you confirm your time, you call or text the phone number to let them know you're coming, then park in the designated pickup zone.
Then, a Walmart employee comes out, confirms your order and loads the groceries into your car.
The company says tips cannot be accepted, "but a 'thank you' and a smile are always welcome.
