A Warren police officer has been fired after he was accused of sending inappropriate text messages to a high school student.
Commissioner William Dwyer said they investigated behavior that was "unbecoming" for one of its officers and, as a result, he was separated from the police department.
Dwyer confirmed that the incident followed inappropriate behavior with a minor. Sources previously said that the internal probe started after the parents of the teenage girl came forward to report the alleged messages.
