(WXYZ) — A wild police chase through Macomb County in early April landed a spot on A&E's police patrol documentary series.

The chase was featured as the television show's "Crime of the Week" segment on April 12.

According to Sterling Heights officers, shots fired between a Dodge Durango and Ford Fusion near Hall Rd. and M-53 on April 2 led to a police chase involving a stolen cruiser through several cities.

Officers located the Durango and tried to stop the vehicle, but found that the Durango was chasing the fusion.

Officers continued the chase ad at one point, the Durango pulled over on the side street allowing officers to chase the Ford Fusion.

The suspect in the Ford Fusion took off on foot and was able to double-back on the officers who were following him. He then jumped into a Sterling Heights police vehicle that was left running and took off.

Police chased the stolen cruiser to I-94 and 12 Mile where there was a crash between a Macomb County Sheriff's Office patrol vehicle and the stolen vehicle. The suspect who stole the police vehicle was taken into custody.

As Sterling Heights police were chasing the stolen patrol car, they got information that Warren police were chasing the Ford Fusion into Detroit. That ended when the suspects crashed and took off on foot. One of the two suspects in the Fusion was arrested, and officers found the second suspect soon after.

Days later, police arrested a third suspect, who was in the backseat of the Ford Fusion.
