Michigan's only regional public transportation provider needs employees.
The SMART bus system is looking to hire fixed route operators (the drivers of the larger buses), and connector bus operators (the drivers of the smaller, shuttle-type buses.)
Both positions are responsible for collecting fares and completing necessary inspections and reports among other duties.
SMART is looking for people with a real desire to drive and serve the public.
Candidates need to be able to obtain a commercial driver's license. They should have no suspensions, revocations or restrictions on their driving record for the past five years. So, less than four points on their driving record.
They must also have a high school diploma or a GED from an accredited school.
They need to be able to work various shifts -- including weekends, holidays, and split days off especially during the first two years of employment.
