(WXYZ) — A Michigan gym is closing its doors at two locations after an employee tested positive for COVID-19.

Conquest Fitness, with locations in Dewitt and East Lansing, said the facility has been temporarily shut down.

"Over the next few days, we will be taking the necessary steps and following the CDC guidelines to ensure our facility is clean and safe for when we reopen," the gym said in a statement.

"We are passionate about contributing to the health and wellbeing of our community and believe this is the best decision to make in these difficult times."

On Wednesday, a federal appeals court halted a lower judge’s order and kept closed gyms and fitness centers that Gov. Gretchen Whitmer closed months ago to curb the coronavirus.
