Many gathered for a vigil at Clark and Michigan Avenue in Detroit. It's the very place where officer Darren Weathers was killed in a crash during a training exercise on Feb. 13, 2018.
The 25-year-old was known for reaching out to kids and a video of him doing just that went viral. After his death, Weathers' family started the I.D.R.E.A.M. with Darren Foundation to keep his legacy alive.
Last year, the foundation provided school supplies for hundreds of students. To donate to the I.D.R.E.A.M. with Darren Foundation, click here.
