Police released surveillance video in the hopes of finding the suspects responsible for shooting a woman in the head.

Investigators say the 36-year-old woman got into a white sedan at a gas station on Detroit's east side with two men. According to police, that was the last time she was seen before she was found with multiple gunshot wounds to the head, laying next to a vacant home in the area of Coplin near Waveney.

This murder comes on the heels of another murder that has shocked the community.

A vigil was held Sunday night for 27-year-old Elizabeth Laird, whose body was found inside a dumpster at Parkview Apartments on Detroit's east side Wednesday.

Detroit police have arrested the man they believe is responsible. After her death, police stressed that rumors circulating about a serial killer in downtown Detroit are not true.

In a Facebook post, the department said, "There is false information circulating on social media that there is a serial killer at large in downtown Detroit, and that five to six female victims have been found in dumpsters prior to the May 15 homicide on Robert Bradby Drive on Detroit’s east side, and further that Detroit Police have failed to communicate this information to the public. This is not true."

On Mother's Day, Destiny Reed was gunned down on Van Dyke near Mack Avenue by someone in a black Chrysler 300. The following Monday, 24-year-old Nyree Henderson and two others were shot in her vehicle that was parked on Guilford, not far from Chandler Park Drive. Henderson was killed. Police believe the two murders may have been gang-related and are looking for a black Chrysler 300 in connection to the murders.
