(WXYZ) — Incumbent Rep. Haley Stevens has won a second term in Congress, beating Republican Eric Esshaki and Libertarian Leonard Schwartz.

With 100% of precincts, Stevens had 50% of the vote with 226,076, compared to Esshaki with 48% of the vote with 215,362.

Stevens, a Democratic from Rochester Hills, won the open seat in Michigan’s 11th Congressional District in 2018, flipping the seat from red to blue. It includes portions of Oakland and Wayne counties.

She has served as the chief of staff on the Presidential Task Force on the Auto Industry under former President Barack Obama.

Like Elissa Slotkin, who flipped another Congressional seat to blue, Stevens has focused on healthcare during the campaign.

Esshaki, from Birmingham, had tried to flip the seat back to red running on what he called a “pro-life, pro-second amendment, pro-border security and pro-constitution” campaign.
