TROY, Mich. (WXYZ) — Pawfficer Badges, the first member of the Troy Police Feline Unit, passed away on Feb. 8, the department announced.
Badges had leukemia, according to the department. It was announced that the cat had a serious medical condition in 2018 and later found a new home.
The department launched a Twitter campaign to find the original member of the feline unit.
For the past two years, Badges had been at Leuk's Landing, which provides a permanent home for cats and kittens with feline leukemia.
In addition to adopting Badges, Leuk's Landing also adopted her siblings, Kel and Alex, who have been renamed to Lt. Kel and Miranda Rights.
