DETROIT (WXYZ) — Playing board games like Monopoly, listening to music, reading, and watching movies are some of Madysun’s top interests.

“My friends describe me as outgoing,” said the 15-year-old who’s currently in foster care hoping to be adopted.

“I like to swim. I like to run for fun,” she explained. She also said she likes shopping, dining out, and dreams of going to Paris one day.

“I get good grades,” she said. “When I put my mind to something, I usually get it done.”

She’s ready to work hard and go to college in a few years.

“I want to be a forensic psychologist. It just fascinates me – just knowing why somebody does the things they do,” she said.

“I’d like to live in a city,” she said. “My future family would have a bunch of dogs.”

Her overarching dream is to be adopted.

“I would like a loving home” she said. “I just want a family that’s supportive of my dreams and where I want to go to college and stuff.”

“I struggled a lot with coming to terms with getting adopted because I thought that getting adopted meant that I’m replacing my old family, but I know now that everybody has multiple families. And I guess that I just want one,” she confided.

Madysun has been waiting to be adopted since June of 2020.
