SHELBY TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WXYZ) — Former Macomb Township Trustee and Deputy County Public Works Commissioner Dino Bucci was allegedly caught on video leaving the scene of two crashes last month.
A misdemeanor ticket is pending - 30 days in jail in Shelby Township District Court.
It would be up to the U. S. Attorney in Detroit to decide if Bucci should be locked up after this, but that office is not commenting.
Bucci is out on bond after taking a plea deal last year to extortion and theft conspiracy. Bucci also agreed to flip on his boss former, Macomb County Public Works Commissioner Anthony Marrocco, who was indicted last year on his own extortion charges.
You can watch Bucci’s exchanges with Macomb County Sheriff Deputies after they stopped him with extensive front and side damage to a new Cadillac he was driving.
Bucci said he hit mailboxes after someone nearly sideswiped him on the road. A sign was also hit in another location.
Bucci said the car was a rental while his was getting service and he told the officers, with body cam rolling, “they’re going to f---ing freak out. This is a 2021.”
Bucci passed roadside sobriety tests. Officers can be heard on the recording saying this doesn’t make sense.
They called in a Lieutenant and when she arrived and started discussing the case the body cams were turned off. Bucci was checked out by EMS and was not injured.
Calls to Bucci and his attorney were not returned.
