ROSEVILLE, Mich. (WXYZ) — A 22-year-old suspect is in custody at a hospital after officers fired off two rounds at a Home Depot in Roseville on Monday while responding to an emergency call.

According to Roseville police, officers were responding to the store on 13 Mile and Little Mack around 5:30 p.m. after calls came in that there was an individual inside waving a gun around. When officers got on the scene, the suspect was identified by customers and employees in the store. According to their accounts, the suspect was standing outside near the main exit doors at the time.

A Roseville officer attempted to make contact with the suspect when the suspect raised his handgun. The two officers responding discharged their firearms. The suspect then attempted to flee on foot, but was tackled by an officer.

The officer then called for medical assistance and provided first aid to the suspect, who is now in custody at a local hospital with charges pending.

The two officers involved in the incident did not sustain any injuries.

The suspect is in stable condition. The investigation is ongoing.
