CLINTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WXYZ) — A simple construction project has turned into complete chaos for a Clinton Township family.

Now, the police are involved. And so is 7 Action News.

Our Andrea Isom talked with a woman who was just trying to do something right and, detectives say, she ended up getting wronged.

Julie Tate entered into a contract with a general construction company to build a wheelchair ramp for her sick mother-in-law. It’s been weeks and the job is not finished. However, Julie says, her finances sure are!

The total cost of the project was supposed to be $2,300. So, why is Julie out more than $9,600?
