Detroit Tigers star Miguel Cabrera selling his home in Birmingham

BIRMINGHAM, Mich. (WXYZ) - Detroit Tigers star Miguel Cabrera is selling his home in Birmingham.

Realtor Maureen Francis has scored a high-profile client, as the Tiger's slugger is switching home base!

He is selling his Birmingham home for just under $2 million.

'Miggy' moved in here 2008.

The home has 7 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms and is nearly 5,700 sq. feet, with a finished basement and a home theater.

"There is a full bar in the basement, a theater, two bedrooms down there with egress window so they are fully useable bedrooms," Francis said.  "This is a nice size lot in a great neighborhood."

The location is on Fairfax Street, not too far from downtown Birmingham.

"The neighborhood is called Quarton Lake Estates. There's parks nearby, elementary schools."

As for Cabrera, his commute to Comerica Park got a little shorter.

The rumor is he moved to Grosse Pointe Farms.

"Who doesn't want to live close to the office? He did too," she added.
