The owner of dog that viciously attacked a Roseville couple has been charged in the case.
Robert Laughton has been charged with two counts of Harboring a Vicious Animal Causing Injury, a four-year felony.
He turned himself in to police and was arraigned on those charges Thursday afternoon in court. Laughton posted bond and was released.

Police called the attack the worst case of dog mauling officers in Roseville had ever seen.
The Pit Bull, named Bruce, nearly killed the man and woman inside their own home around 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 30.
The dog belonged to the woman’s son. The same dog attacked the couple less than two weeks ago.
The Roseville police chief says the attack was gruesome. It was so bad the male victim, said to be in his 50s, had to be airlifted to U of M Ann Arbor. A female victim also in her 50s was covered in blood outside the home pleading for help.
The attack happened on the 30-thousand block of Normal when the woman went to let the dog out of the crate upon returning home. The woman’s boyfriend jumped in to help, but the dog began mauling him.
Police Chief James Berlein says it’s one of the worst animal attacks his officers have ever seen.
The chief says when officer responded the female victim was outside the home covered in blood, but the male victim was still inside unconscious with the Pit Bull standing over his body. Officers had to distract the dog to enter before tasering it.
Laughton was ticketed for possessing an unlicensed pet during the first attack and could now face charges.
Both the man and woman were originally listed in critical condition, but have improved.
The woman is listed in good condition. Her boyfriend is in serious condition, and will require additional surgeries.
The dog has been euthanized.
