DPD launches new program for officers

Due to years of little enforcement and too few police officers, residents in Detroit have had to put up with crime in their neighborhoods, leaving them angry and frustrated. 

When they called to report it, the complaints often went unheard and those doing wrong went unpunished. Now, designated Detroit Police officers are listening and changing attitudes.

Under Chief James Craig, a neighborhood police officer program was implemented with the goal of connecting officers and residents to create safer communities.
