Police looking for suspect in Mosque break-in on Detroit's northeast side

DETROIT (WXYZ) - A local mosque broken into, vandalized and it was all caught on camera.

Now police need your help finding the person responsible.

Officials at the mosque say the thief broke in through a window and when he got back outside, he noticed the camera and tried to pull it down.

Thankfully there were more inside.

Humayun Shofad Hossain says the mosque on Conant near the Detroit/Hamtramck border has been broken into three times recently.

This time the crook was caught on camera. Detroit police need your help tracking down the guy seen in the surveillance footage.

Hossain says the thief broke in through the window, caused lots of damage and tried to break into several rooms.

Hossain says he doesn’t recognize the guy seen breaking in. He’s hoping someone watching does and calls police.

If you recognize the man seen in that footage, you are asked to call police.
