It's hard for Debbie Sherman to even look at the door to her son's bedroom now that he's gone.

Deepening the pain is that 24-year-old Lloyd Ray, the accused killer, has managed to elude police since the shooting in Lincoln Park on the weekend of St. Patrick's Day.

"It's very hard. I can't sleep. I can't eat," said Sherman who spoke to 7 Action News about losing her only son, 23-year-old Stephen Plitt.

Click on the video to hear an emotional plea from Stephen's loved ones as they ask for the public to help authorities find suspected shooter Lloyd Ray, who U.S. Marshals say may have cut his hair.

Anyone with any information on his whereabouts is urged to call 313-234-5656.
