The Macomb County Sheriff's Office has released a sketch of a suspected home intruder who attacked a woman in her home in Mount Clemens.

It happened Friday, April 21 around 8:40 a.m. on the 500 block of Clinton River Drive.

The 36-year-old woman had just returned from taking her kids to school. Her husband had just left for work.

The woman told deputies she was upstairs when she heard the front door being kicked in.

She confronted the suspect who is described as a black male, 20-30 years of age, 5'10" with a medium build. He was wearing a black Carhartt style coat and black work boots.

She was reportedly struck in the head twice with the suspect's handgun and fell unconscious. The woman awoke to find her cellphone smashed. She then drove herself to her parents home in Eastpointe. She was taken to St. John's Hospital in Detroit for treatment.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Macomb County Sheriff's Office at 586-307-9412.
