The Blue Deck Parking lot has reopened at Detroit Metro Airport after an investigation into a suspicious vehicle.

The police situation prompted a shutdown of the parking deck and the Ground Transportation Center.

The all clear has been given.

The airport has issued the following statement:

The Blue Deck parking structure and Ground Transportation Center (GTC) at Detroit Metropolitan Airport’s North Terminal reopened around 4:45 p.m. today. The areas were closed while Airport Authority Police investigated a suspicious vehicle. The vehicle was deemed suspicious because it was in the Blue Deck for more than a month and its license plate was not registered with the state. During the course of the investigation, a K-9 dog detected an anomaly. Once it was determined to be a false positive, operations returned to normal. At all times, safety and security were the top priorities of the police department and the airport’s federal partners. The Airport Authority appreciates the patience and understanding of our customers during the investigation.
