More than two dozen drivers now have to buy new tires for their rides.

At this point, Ann Arbor police tell 7 Action News between 30 and 40 cars were targeted by vandals this week. Police say they were first called to the area just before 5 a.m. Wednesday.

Victims' cars were found mostly parked on the street in the area of Liberty Street and Fourth Avenue. Other cars targeted were parked in an alley. The vehicles had at least one tires slashed.

Pat has owned Cloverleaf Restaurant for years. She tells Action News that for 22 years she has parked her car right outside her Ann Arbor staple and never had anything happened. But, Wednesday, she says she found all four of her tires had been slashed and now she's scared.

Our crews found her sitting inside her restaurant, her SUV parked right outside and Pat keeping an eye out.

"I've been here 22 years. I feed everybody," Pat said. "Why you do this? I do not understand."

Pat says Ann Arbor police quickly responded on Wednesday.

"We need the help. Help to find who did this," she said.

This morning, the search is on for the person or people behind this vandalism.
