Wayne State University police say a student was robbed at gunpoint near the Detroit Medical Center on Sunday. Police have arrested the two suspects.

According to police, the 22-year-old female student was walking down the street at 4201 St. Antoine to her parked car.

When she was on St. Antoine near Canfield, she saw two suspects, one behind her and one in front of her.

The first suspect walking behind her asked her what time it was and she answered. Then, he told her to turn around. She didn't and that's when she noticed the first suspect had pressed something hard into the small of her back.

The woman said she also saw the suspect holding what appeared to be a black pistol in his hand.

According to police, the suspect said "give me your phone or I'll shoot you," and he reached into her front pocket and took her iPhone. He also tried to take her purse, but she wouldn't give it. The second suspect then tried to help but they both couldn't get the purse.

She pulled away and took off yelling for help, and saw both suspects run southeast into the Viewpointe Village Apartment Complex between St. Antointe and I-75 just south of Warren.
