A woman in in the hospital after she was involved in a crash while crossing the street on 8 Mile in Eastpointe. It happened Monday morning.
A witness told 7 Action News the driver, a man in his 30s or 40s, was in a white SUV. He could be see driving erratically.
The witness says she watched him swerving in and out of lanes. She says he hit an woman who in another vehicle and almost crashed into her car.
According to the witness, she called 911 and stayed on the phone with them until she watched the man hit the pedestrian.
According to police, the man is in custody but they would not go into details. The witness says the man was unstable.
Police have not said whether drugs or alcohol were factors and the case is under investigation.
Right now, we haven't been given the victim's condition.
