The city of Clawson held it's annual Fourth of July celebration on Wednesday featuring games, fireworks, food and rides. The celebration has been held every year since 1933, with the exception of one year during wartime.

“We are expecting a huge turnout," event organizer Pam Weaver said. "Clawson is known for it’s Fourth of July celebrations."

This year they provided monster truck rides on Shell Camino.

“This year we have monster truck, which is brand new and we’re really excited about that," Weaver said.

But the main event is traditionally the fireworks that kick off at 10 p.m.

“They’re really big and people always save out their spot like really far in advance," said event goer Amaya Tomma. "People take it real seriously and it’s a big event for everyone."

And with a crowd of 20,000 or more each year, you better get to Clawson city park early if you want to catch a seat.
