A 42-year-old man from Detroit was arrested and charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and driving with a suspended license.

An officer initiated a traffic stop on Westbound Malvern Drive, east of Adams Road on March 17. He spoke with the driver, identified as Andre Maurice Williams, and noted an odor of alcohol coming from inside the car.

When asked, Williams allegedly admitted he had consumed one alcoholic drink while at work at a group home.

He was asked to perform several sobriety evaluations but the officer says Williams performed poorly. He submitted to a preliminary breath test with a result of .120 percent.

The officer determined that his driver's license was suspended fifteen times by the Secretary of State. It was also determined that he did not have vehicle insurance coverage.
