Twenty-four arrests have been made after a three-day operation led by the U.S. Marshals Service.

The operation resulted in 18 arrests, two verified deaths, two extreme medical conditions, and one in prison, according to Highland Park Police.

The Detroit Fugitive Apprehension Team (DFAT) partnered with the Detroit Police Department and several county Sheriff's Offices to conduct homicide, fraud, and attempted murder searches.

The arrests were made for crimes committed as far back as 1997.

The operation ended Thursday, May 24.

Operations such as these not only help reduce crime within the city of Highland Park and Wayne County, said Detective Brian Menge, they also help build partnerships with neighboring agencies.
