Detroit Police are searching for the man who carjacked a couple at 8:10 p.m. Tuesday at the Citgo gas station on Van Dyke near Seven Mile Road on the city's east side.

Police tell 7 Action News that it happened shortly after the suspect grabbed the female victim's buttocks inside the gas station.

The woman and the suspect then argued, and when the woman went outside, she told her boyfriend what had happened and he then went to confront the suspect.

The couple says that's when the suspect pulled out a silver handgun, pointed it at the woman and then got in the couple's car and drove east on Seven Mile.

The stolen vehicle is a black 2008 Chevy Impala.

The carjacker is described as a black man with a dark complexion in his 30s with a thin build. He stands about 5'8" tall and was wearing a black cap, black biker's vest, and dark jeans.

Anyone with information is urged to call the Detroit Police Commercial Auto Theft Section (CATS) at 313-596-2555.

Tipsters can also call Help Eliminate Auto Thefts at 1-800-242-HEAT where they can receive a $2,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest and warrant of a carjacking suspect.
