Officers found a body burned beyond recognition in the 9600 block of Herkimer in Detroit early Sunday morning.
Police arrived at the scene and observed the fire department extinguish a car fire.
After checking the vehicle, officers observed a deceased victim inside.
The car is described as a 2000 gray Chevrolet Silverado.
