President Trump talked about growing the economy and protecting borders during his rally in Washington Township Saturday.

"I'd much rather be in Washington, Michigan than Washington D.C.," he said, prompting cheers from the crowd.

It was his second trip to Michigan as president, and the fifth rally in the state since he began his run for presidency.

"I think he's very honest and up-front with the American people," said supporter Jenna King. "He's not doing a lot of political crap that we don't want to hear."

Trump also highlighted Michigan's economic growth and declining unemployment numbers.

"Not only the tax cuts, the jobs that have been created, unemployment, let me tell you, our country is doing great."

Supporters in attendance agreed with his vision for the future.

"It always resonates. He always knows what to say and when to say it," said supporter Gary Mulholland.
