MOUNT CLEMENS, Mich. (WXYZ) — R. Kelly is facing ten sex crimes involving 4 women, 3 of whom where under age in Chicago. One of the members of his defense team is from metro Detroit.
Nicole Blank Becker was the head of the sex crimes unit inside the Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office for years. Now she’s one of 6 attorneys on the R Kelly case.
In an exclusive interview with 7 Action News she admits this case is the Super Bowl of sex crimes. She says her job is to make sure Robert Kelly’s rights are protected.
The controversy started with a Lifetime documentary called Surviving R Kelly. Then he did a nationally televised interview and erupted with emotion denying the allegations.
Blank Becker says he’s emotional but has not erupted like that.
