The annual Neighborhood Clean Sweep Program has begun for the city of Warren. Inspectors will be out looking for violations.
The program started in 2008, it targets blight violations.
Mayor Jim Fouts says since it started over 60,000 warning notices have been handed out to businesses and homeowners about a $1,000 fine they could face.
Over 600 vacant homes have been demolished and the extra expenses like grass and weed cutting are charged to those responsible.
Mayor Fouts says most of the time businesses and homeowners will fix the problem within five days and only 900 tickets have been issued in connection to the program over the last ten years.
