A 19-year-old Whitmore Lake man is accused of strangling a woman unconscious at Peaberry Bean & Beats in Whitmore Lake.
The victim, a 22-year-old woman from Ann Arbor worked as a barista. She told police she was strangled 30 minutes before they arrived and had been unconscious until she reported the incident.
Northfield Township police officers took the suspect, identified as Zachary Armond Campbell, into custody within 10 minutes.
He has been charged with Assault with Intent to Murder and Assault with Intent to do Great Bodily Harm Less Than Murder.
Campbell is being held in the Washtenaw County Jail on an $80,000 bond.
