Police say thieves have targeted a neighborhood in Pittsfield Township.

"We can't even go to sleep at night and feel safe in the neighborhood we've lived in for over 20 years," said Caitlyn Julien whose vehicle was ransacked along with nearly a dozen others in her Pittsfield Township neighborhood.

The thieves were after anything of value and seemed to target unlocked vehicles, police say.

Julien and some others say their cars were locked and have small pry marks on their car doors.

The thefts took place early Tuesday morning in the Hickory Pointe subdivision near Michigan Avenue and Munger Road.

Pittsfield Township Police are urging people to not leave anything of value in their vehicles and to make sure doors to their vehicles and homes are locked, and they encourage people to leave the lights on outside their garages.

One man's vehicle was stolen. Police say he made it easy for the crooks, leaving the key inside the car.

Anyone with any information is urged to contact the Pittsfield Township Police Department at (734) 822-4911.
