ROMULUS, Mich. (WXYZ) — Governor Gretchen Whitmer will join workers at Detroit Metro Airport Wednesday for their fight for $15 an hour.
The airport's contracted passenger service workers, cabin cleaners, gate agents and ramp agents say they make poverty wages.
Many of those workers claim they are on public assistance, making it hard to support their families and communities.
Along with airport workers, the protest will also include nursing home workers, security officers and fast food workers.
They will be joined by the governor in the McNamara terminal for a rally at 12:20 p.m.
