Sara is passionate about enterprise reporting; she loves finding the story behind the headline - whether that means holding people accountable or highlighting the voices of the community.
Before joining the team, Sara reported in Richmond, Virginia, covering everything from breaking news to politics, crime, and education. She led coverage of major stories, including an exclusive investigation that sparked a federal review, extensive reporting on federal immigration enforcement, and more.
A proud Latina journalist, Sara is a 2024 graduate of Indiana University. Originally from the Chicagoland area, she is excited to be back in the Midwest and call Detroit home.
