(WXYZ) — Snow continues to fall across Metro Detroit this afternoon, and it will last for several more hours.

Heavier snow and lower temperatures will lead to 2-4" of accumulation across Lenawee and Monroe Counties; where winter weather advisories continue until 5pm.

Most of the snow has been melting on the roads north of I-94, but occasional heavier bands of snow may lead to slick conditions and lower visibility.

The intensity of the snow will get lighter after 3pm.

We average 1.7" of snow in the month of April, so this isn't too unusual of an event for us. However, the average last date of measurable snow is April 8th for Metro Detroit. The latest date for measurable snow is May 22nd.
