Tigers to season ticket holders: We won't be this bad forever

Posted

The Detroit Tigers sent a letter to their season ticket holders Wednesday saying, "We want to win just as much as you do."

In the letter signed by GM Al Avila and VP of Business Operations Duane McLean, the they acknowledge that the season has been "difficult" and "frustrating".

It goes on to say: "As you know, the franchise is transition into a new era, and that transition is well under way. For starters, the construction of our Major League roster is taking on more of a home grown approach. We have committed to spending and investing significant resources in player development -- including the addition of domestic and international scouts, minor league instructors, support programs for players, world-class facilities in Lakeland and renovations to our Dominican Academy."

Tigers fan Erika MacArthur tweeted out a picture of the letter in its entirety.

Currently the Tigers record is 57-74 and they've lost 17 of their last 23 games.
