ANN ARBOR, Mich. (WXYZ) -- During his weekly press conference on Monday, Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh addressed Quinn Nordin's recent kicking struggles.
Following Nordin's 31-yard miss in the second quarter of Saturday's win over Maryland, cameras not only captured Harbaugh expressing his frustration, but also exchanging some heated words with his kicker.
"It's really simple - he's gotta make the kicks," Harbaugh said. "It's a meritocracy, and if not him, we'll give somebody else a shot at it."
Harbaugh related Nordin's struggles to those of Kenny Allen a season ago.
"You look back at the Wisconsin game, Kenny missed three field goals in that ballgame. Same message last year: make this next one or somebody else is gonna kick the one after that. So Kenny responded to that and we hope Quinn will do the same."
Through ten games, Nordin has made 14 of 19 field goal attempts, including going 0-for-1 in each of the Wolverines' past three games.
