DETROIT (WXYZ) -- Oakland received the top spot in the Horizon League men's basketball preseason poll on Friday.

The poll, conducted among Horizon League head coaches, sports information directors, and media members, was announced during the conference's media day at Little Caesars Arena.

The Golden Grizzlies, defending regular season champions, received 31 out of a possible 47 first-place votes.

Northern Kentucky's Drew McDonald was voted Preseason Player of the Year.

The full preseason team voting is as follows (first-place votes in parentheses):
