DETROIT (WXYZ) -- Former Detroit Pistons forward Josh Smith was ejected during the BIG3 season opener Saturday night at Little Caesars Arena.

Early in the first half of the game between Bivouac and Enemies, Smith got into a physical confrontation with Royce White. Both players were ejected.

Smith signed with the Pistons in 2013, and was subsequently waived in December 2014. Under the terms of Smith's release (the NBA's stretch provision), Detroit continues to pay him approximately $5.3 million per year through the 2019-2020 season.

In Saturday's BIG3 games, 3-Headed Monsters beat Trilogy 51-46, Power beat 3's Company 50-38, and Bivouac beat Enemies 50-43. It was the league's second appearance in Detroit, drawing 14,235 fans.
