Even now during the coronavirus pandemic, Louis is still hard at work making deliveries. Delivery is still free during the pandemic. Louis says he is taking precautions to stay safe against COVID-19.
“All I do is just make sure I got my PPE, keep my distance, and I leave the medications on the porches,” said Louis. “They see me before I take off and wave at them like full appreciation.”
Some days you will catch Louis making the deliveries in his car, and other days you can catch him riding his bike. He says he wants to keep going to make sure seniors get their prescriptions.
“There are a lot of older people out there, older than me, they don’t have cars, they are afraid of driving," Louis said. “Many of them are grateful they always tell me thank you."
“He’s been great, honest, dependable, caring, people love him because he is right on time rain or snow before COVID-19 came on so he has been a blessing to the organization and he has been doing a great job,” said pharmacist Lenyie Ngbogbara.
There is a King Pharmacy on Detroit’s east side located at 12871 Jefferson, and a second King Pharmacy in Roseville located at 20891 E 13 Mile Road.
