The armed robbery inside this Dearborn Heights 7-Eleven actually started two hours earlier when the suspect first showed up here with a knife.

He threatened the clerk and the clerk fought him off with a bat - he said he’d be back with a gun and he was right. And now police, they need your help identifying him.

Just before 5 a.m., the man walks through door a second time - instead of a knife - he had a gun.

He first shoved customer Benny Jet out of the way.

We’re talking about the Pistons we’re talking about the tigers, all of a sudden some wild guy comes in," Jet said.

He fired off a shot aimed for the clerk - nearly missing him. The clerk crawled away under the counter and got out of the store safely. The man stole booze form behind the counter.

"Years and years we’ve been coming here. Its a good place its a safe place but every once in a while crazy things happen," Jet added.

A witness saw gave police a good description of the getaway car - police found it and started a high speed chase, ending in the arrest of a man who they believe may be the getaway driver.

But the man who opened fire is still out there.
