Gleaners is in the middle of its Million Meal campaign and planning a second Fundraising effort: A Women's Power Breakfast. Donations to the campaign are matched by PNC Bank and other generous sponsors, meaning every dollar donated generates SIX meals for hungry kids.
Gleaners says," one in five Michigan children struggles with hunger, meaning they don't have steady access to the food they need to live a healthy and productive life. Normally, $1 provides three meals, but during the Million Meal Match, every donation is doubled and $1 provides SIX meals for hungry children."
Gleaners says its 23rd annual Women's Power Breakfast (WPB) presented by PNC, brings over 600 of metro Detroit's most powerful female business, civic and community leaders together.
It will take place Thursday, April 22 at Detroit's historic Eastern Market - Shed #3 from 7:00am - 9:00am. Guests will enjoy unparalleled networking with some of metro Detroit's most powerful female civic, business and community leaders, a simple breakfast and an inspirational program.
OnApril 7th Gleaners held a "Women's Happy Hour" event at MGM Grand in Detroit to support it's "Million Meal" event.
"Solving hunger is an investment in our future, especially when it comes to kids," said Gleaners President Gerry Brisson. "It's so important that we meet our one million meal goal so we can continue to provide children with healthy food.
Brisson says attending the events or donating to the cause is crucial to the organization reaching its goal.

TICKETS:
Women's Power Breakfast General tickets are $120 and Intermediate tickets are $85. Intermediate tickets are for guests 35 and under only. Guests are strongly encouraged to purchase tickets quickly as the annual breakfast sells out quickly.
